BSW-20

Optotune’s beam shifter BSW-20 displaces light laterally by accurately tilting a glass window. In imaging systems this allows for increasing resolution by a factor of 4. The bearingless design with no friction allows for highly reliable continuous operation.

Configurations
  • The beam shifting window is best placed right between sensor and lens ​
  • A two-channel current controller is required to control the image shift, whereas either the camera or the BSW can be configured as master
Applications
Increase resolution where smaller pixels or larger sensors are not available or too expensive. Applications include: super-resolution imaging for monochrome, color or thermal cameras, metrology, optical coupler and variable phase retarder.
